ESTIMATOR
BASIC FUNCTION
This position requires an individual well versed in computer
applications that directly relate to the estimating and bidding
functions. The use of job file control systems and information
sharing methods that improve the timing of information sharing
and overall job knowledge by operations personnel is a key
function of this position. Additional functions include preparing
accurate estimates in a timely manner, job coordinating, job
controls, scheduling work with existing and potential customers
and supporting other members of the estimating team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of all residential, commercial, and industrial
estimates, ensuring that all assignments are completed on
time and within budget.
Directly responsible for all residential, commercial,
and industrial business in the private customer category.
Input estimates into computerized job costing system
allowing for proper contract analysis and review.
Ensure all contracts are customer approved in writing
and returned prior to work commencement.
Prepares and organizes all contract files ensuring
site supervisors have all required documentation prior to
job commencement, and ensures files are complete and accurate
upon job completion.
Prepares and organizes all job files as directed by
the Operations Manager including scope of work (contract and
extras), production sheets, and complete billing information.
Prices all change requests submitted by sales and production
staff and return for their presentation to customer.
Review invoicing prior to release to customer checking
for accuracy and completeness of billing.
Assists in the planning and coordination of all production
requirements including work force, materials, supplies, equipment
and tools.
Communicates necessary information to field employees
ensuring their understanding of critical issues (job duties,
production reports, etc.)
Maintains cooperative working relationships with all
Company employees, existing and potential customers, sub-contractors,
owners, suppliers, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Minimum of Community College with an engineering/architectural/project
management background. C.E.T. designation preferred.
This position has the basic function of supporting the Operations
Teams. The primary goal is to complete projects within estimate,
on schedule with the highest standards of quality and customer
satisfaction with highest profitability achievable.

PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR
JOB DUTIES
Co-ordinate project performance standards and confirm scope
of project workflow through each stage of the project. Maintain
close surveillance and control over the projects by participating
in staff/subs meetings, observations, personal contact and
by submitting weekly progress and
accounts payable reports and preparation of change orders
for client review. Assure coordination of estimate, sub-trades
responsibilities and tendering procedure/process,
purchase order/sub contract preparation with ASG and expediting
the project schedule.
Be responsible for the co-ordination of creating methods and
efficiencies through the co-ordination of site Foreman, on-site
activities, problem recognition/resolution resulting in cost
reductions and time cycle schedule reduction.
Co-ordinate manpower requirements based on an understanding
of corporate goals and project objectives. Recommend procedural
improvements and processes to facilitate the
highest profitability achievable.
Co-ordinate the project interview/selection process
of hiring. Co-ordinate a safe working environment for employees
and co-ordinate the necessary training to meet needs and regulations
of all related Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental
Assurance. Co-ordinate ongoing and
scheduled employee appraisal processes including wage considerations,
promotions and job transfers.
Act as a liaison between Project Manger, client, sub-trades
and workforce concerning problems as they pertain to the company
and/or the project.
Co-ordinate staff communications on matters of new
policy, procedures, corporate philosophy and decisions.
Co-ordinate work-site, grounds, and equipment to provide
and sustain a quality-working environment for maximum efficiency,
productivity with highest profitability achievable.
Co-ordinate the preparation of the project closing
procedures, including substantial completion, compilation
of and completion of a deficiency list.
Co-ordinate the payments of local expenses as per corporate
travel pre-determined limits. Co-ordinate the documentation
and cost justification for projects requiring outside services
and materials and/or corporate approval.
ESTIMATING:
This estimator position will actively participate in the entire
estimating process including project set-up, quantity take
off, conceptual estimating, detailed estimating, sub-contracting
estimation, preliminary project by-out and bid presentation
preparation.
This estimator will perform quantity takeoffs, apply unit
pricing, price subcontracts, analyze risk factors, provide
conceptual estimates and build the bid proposals.
Recent experience in the construction industry estimating
multiple construction projects.
This estimator position will actively participate in the entire
estimating process including project set-up, quantity take
off, conceptual estimating, detailed estimating, sub-contracting
estimation, preliminary project by-out and bid presentation
preparation.
Will perform quantity takeoffs, apply unit pricing, price
subcontracts, analyze risk factors, provide conceptual estimates
